Melissa Milgrom is author of Still Life, a chronicle of her adventures among taxidermists (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2010). Melissa’s first book, it was selected as an Amazon Best Book of the Month and received praise from The New Yorker, The New York Times, People, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Globe, and Publisher’s Weekly, among others.

I'm happy to announce that Flatiron Books will publish my next book Another Earth, a science adventure story chronicling one of the 20th-century's most ambitions experiments, Biosphere 2.

Icon Books will publish the book in the U.K.

She has spoken about taxidermy and other topics at Yale, Harvard, The American Museum of Natural History, The Museum of Arts and Design, the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and at literary events, conferences, and book festivals.
 
Milgrom’s writing about popular culture, subcultures, and people with eccentric areas of expertise has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Beast, Salon, Audubon.com, and other publications. She has produced segments for public radio’s Studio 360 and has appeared on national radio programs in the United States, Ireland, Australia, and Canada. 

Melissa holds a master's degree in American studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a visiting professor at the Pratt Institute and lives in Brooklyn, New York. Articles/Radio/TV
